I wrote a thread a few weeks ago about my battery and solar not keeping my battery charged when running my 12V window fan all night, especially if it was a cloudy day/weekend. Thank you all for the great replies.
We picked up a Westinghouse 2200/1800 Generator and that worked great to recharge the battery in the am during generator run hours, but my battery was still very low by morning, so that issue was not resolved.
We met a nice family from Michigan last weekend when out camping and he suggested a Jackery for the fan. He let me try his, so we purchased the Jackery Explorer 240 and are now testing it to see if it will run the fan all night, so far so good. I have had the fan running on low for 6 hours now and the battery level is at 44%. Jackery states you can run the battery down to 15% before charging. I am testing for an 8 hour run and will then recharge the battery via generator during the am hours. The fan on low is running at 24 watts and I never run it any higher than low, it is a pretty powerful fan.
The Jackery can also be used to recharge phones, run laptops and other small devices. I think this will be a good solution for our camping needs and it didn't break the bank
Next weekend will be a live run of the Jackery and camper battery with the solar! Some people need air-conditioning, I need a fan.
Please share your Jackery experiences/uses if you have one.
