Jay Feather 221 entry door

My entry door opens only 90 deg. It uses a strut to hold it open.
I think this could be a problem in windy conditions, and I am thinking, that an old style latch bar would be better and hold it open closer to 180 deg. Just don't know if there is a suitable mounting in the wall.
Any thoughts, ideas, guesses, appreciated. Jim

Well. I figured out I can do it, but dummy me didn't think about the grill mount that will be in the way, when grilling. I guess that is why the door is made to open only 90 deg.

We have the same type of door opening on our 26RKS. Our problem is if we change it, we would cover 90% of a very large window, outside speaker and a holding compartment. The factory installed the window backwards which is the biggest problem for us. If they had installed it so it opened the other direction, then we would change that door in a second. However, someone thought it would be a great idea to have the owner crawl across the very large bench in order to even open the window and then make the door stick out and block all conversation with anyone outside as it blocks the view. I guess we could have the window flipped but the cost and chances of future window problems are keeping us from doing it. So for now, we just tolerate it.

Thanks Campongdog: I too finally realized, that the mount for the Grill, would be behind the door. I guess I will live with the door, or forget about using the grill.
Thanks for responding. Happy Camping. Jim
