Jay Feather 25RB Owners

We want to start a Jay Feather 25RB Owners thread for owners of this model and everyone else to contribute to or view.

DW and I took possession of our 2021 Jay Feather 25RB on Friday. Our dealer has complimentary onsite full hookup spaces. We camped two nights to learn our TT and be sure everything worked. This is our fourth TT but first Jayco. It did not take long to figure stuff out.

Our 25RB was manufactured on February 17, 2021. Here are the changes we noticed from earlier productions.

Interior changes:
• Our kitchen cabinet has a toe kick (or is notched out) at the base allow the slide out vinyl floor to clear the cabinet when closed (photo).
• One large cabinet door in front of the sink has replaced the two doors (photo).
• Theatre seats are manual operated.

Exterior changes:
• The propane quick connect has moved from under the rear bumper to under the rear passenger side of the TT (photo).
• A 2 inch receiver was added on the rear side to support LP BBQ or other grill (photo).

What’s on our 25RB:
Roof mount solar prep: Go Power (photo)
Air Conditioner: Dometic Evolution, 15K BTU, optional (photo)
Refrigerator: Dometic 6 cu. ft. gas/elect.
Microwave: Furrion, 0.9 cu ft.
3 Burner Gas Range: Furrion,
Range Hood: Furrion
Water Heater: Suburban, 6 gal.
Furnace: Dometic
TV: Insignia, 32”
AM/FM/Bluetooth: iRV Technologies
Toilet: Thetford, plastic
Power Tongue Jack: FIC, 3,500 lb.
Awning: Dometic

More posts coming to this thread on modifications/upgrades in between our many camping trips.

Welcome aboard 25RBers and everyone else!

25RB - A Better Bathroom Faucet

Replaced the factory bathroom faucet with a quality higher neck faucet. We had this faucet in our former Rockwood TT. We can fill one gallon milk jugs or a small bucket and move the neck out of the way. No need to cut the PEX supply hoses, the hoses fit right on the faucet. The faucet comes with a pop up drain and supply lines (not used).

This faucet will fit most any RV with a small bathroom sink.

The Parlos faucet shown in the link is the gold brushed faucet. The brushed nickel faucet may be out of stock. The brushed nickel faucet part number is 1431602 ($39.99).

The 'swivel' high-neck is a nice feature.

I did install a higher neck in my 24RBS, but overlooked the 'swivel'.

A Better Toilet

I replaced the small plastic Thetford toilet in our 25RB with a Dometic Model 310 toilet with hand sprayer. This Dometic toilet is 18” high, has a porcelain bowl and self-closing wooden seat. We had this toilet in two former TTs.

It connects right up to the factory PEX water inlet hose. I decided not to install an in-line shut off valve. I would have to cut the PEX hose and install additional parts (on/off valve, a flex SS braided hose and PVC fittings). I have a PVC plug for the PEX connection to shut off the toilet if there are any issues.

The hand sprayer comes with mounting hardware. I did not get to mounting it so I just left it hanging on the towel rack temporarily.

Can the Suburban 6 gallon water heater use Electricity and Propane at the same time for a quicker recovery time or is it an either or type of operation?

Yes, turning on both Electric and Gas switches at the same time will provide the fastest hot water recovery. Be sure to also turn on the water heater's electric switch outside after the water heater tank fills up.

Also, page 114 of the 2021 Jayco Jay Feather Owner's Manual says "Normally both switches should be turned on to provide the fastest hot water recovery".

Thank you! The perfect answer! I promise to dig deeper in to my user manual.

Screen Door Cross Bar Handle On 25RB

A great handle for the screen door is Camco’s cross bar handle. I had it on our former TTs. It also makes a good towel rack.

https://www.amazon.com/Camco-Screen-...s%2C205&sr=8-2

Install video:

I used a smaller 7/64” drill bit instead of the instructions 1/8” bit for the screws to fit tighter.

Hello, so we went out on our first trip in the new Jay Feather 25RB this past weekend and had a great time. One thing I noticed is the vent in the bedroom lets in a lot of light in the morning. Me being a morning person automatically wakes up to all this light. Anybody have remedy or suggestion to, "black this out?"

Congratulations on your new 25RB. We keep this Camco Sunshield Vent Insulator in our 25RB bedroom vent. It insulates and keeps the light out.

Replacement Kitchen Faucet

Hello, fellow Jayco owners, has anyone replaced/upgraded the Kitchen faucet? If what brand and model did you go with?

Are roof vents prepped for vent covers?

We have ordered a new 25RB, to be delivered end of June. Our 4th RV. Always added vent covers so we could ventilate when it was raining and while in storage. In the old days, I'd install them myself but now I'm in my old days. Figuring to have the dealer install the 3 vent covers but a bit expensive. Saw a YouTube video that suggested Jayco TTs now come with vent cover brackets installed at the factory. If so, I'm thinking I can still do the install myself and save a nice piece of change. Anyone know if the brackets are included from the factory? Thanks mucho.

I have the first iteration of the 2021 25RB built in June 2020. I did not have any brackets on the vent outlets for covers already in place. Also the middle vent needed to fully be taken apart to get the included Camco brackets on correctly. Nothing was hard, but just time consuming in an awkward position and in the roof.

Tpms

Anyone have the Jaycommand Mini? Does the TPMS info and smartphone app stay connected in your TV while underway? I cannot get my phone app to stay connected therefore I cannot see TPMS info while towing.
