Looking to purchase a 166FBS Jay Feather Micro with the Azdel and wanted to see if anyone has any feedback on how they like the new Micro units

Second weekend with our 2022 166fbs. Love it so far! Tows great (pulling up & down mountains with Jeep Gladiator Rubicon). Using weight distribution hitch and sway bar. Great size for two and 75lb dog. All the comforts of home while dry camping. Lots of storage. Keep finding features we hadn't noticed were included, like TPMS, TV antenna, etc. Significant modifications so far: extra battery, extra ground solar panels, mattress topper, motion sensor lights in cabinets, rearview camera. Issues? One marker light DOA, awning arms won't stay locked to give awning some slant, cupholders in couch arms not screwed down. Would change? Needs 12v USB ports by bed (power tower in headboard requires 110v).

Just got back from our first trip with only electric hookups close to home. I ended up sleeping on the jackknife sofa to avoid bothering my wife. Like the large tank capacities, would probably last a couple a week. Also like the outside refrigerator which we used for drinks instead of dragging along a cooler. Would have liked the 12v refrigerator instead of propane/electric, but would of had to order and you would probably need more solar and batteries to make it work well boondocking. Also like the 16" light truck tires instead of trailer tires, along with the higher ground clearance. Pulled it with a V6 Colorado without a WD hitch or sway control. May add one or both in the future depending on how it pulls at highway speed. All in all seems like a quality, well-designed product.

I agree with the "Sleighman" post. The Cup Holders aren't screwed down. That's important because the singleton pivot table inserts into the cup holder and if it isn't screwed down then the pivot table droops over from its own weight. One screw at the bottom of the cup holder and you're good-to-go.

Yours came with a TPMS, meaning tire pressure monitoring system?

Yes. Our 2022 166fbs came with tire pressure monitors. It connects in with the Bluetooth monitors for tanks, etc. BMPro version.

I believe that is called JayCommand. Some dealers order with it, some dont. Mine did not come with. I have a 171BH. I really like our camper. I had to tighten nearly every screw and re fasten a lot of things that were peeling away or falling off (but nothing super serious), had to rewire the solar as the connections Jayco did up on the roof under the solar port were CRAZY bad (but again, easy fix and I have never had a trailer). When you pull one of these up next to another trailer, you wont buy anything else. Maybe a RockPro Minlite, but thats it. Oh, I did have to re caulk the entire trailer (gaps everywhere), but that was only 2 hours of my life (small trailers rule) and I feel better, lol. I also flex sealed every screw on the outside. I love that they screwed down SO MUCH of the exterior trim, but those are all penetrations, so I hit them ALL with clear flex seal.

I'm curious what is under the sofa area? Storage or other stuff?

The sofa is a jack knife sofa. So there is no storage underneath. It does fold out into a bed for guests.

Thanks. We travel with a cat and dog. I am trying to plan for where to locate a litter box. On campers with a dinette, I would use the storage under one bench. I'm not sure on this 166FBS. I had hoped under the sofa would work, but I guess not. I may use part of the front storage area under the bed.

I pulled to cover off the front of the sofa on mine to look around. The slide mechanism is in the center with empty space on either side. You could potentially use it. Another option would be to leave one of the ottomans at home and put it in the space under the bed.

Anyone else having a problem with the TV mount arm sagging? What's the fix? I think it is clever, but I'm not sure the engineering is up to the task. When I pull the knob to let the TV swing out the whole thing sags down an inch. To reclose it I have to lift up the TV until the latch lines up. I can tell the dealer attempted a fix because the Phillips head screws are now a bit damaged from the screwdriver being turned without being seated first.

If you don't need the outside refrigerator you can repurpose the space by putting the litter box there. Then cut a small access door thru from the blank wall under the TV/ drawer storage area.

I tore mine out and replaced it with one I built myself. I missed it on the walkthrough, but they made a mess of it when they put it in. I used 3 cabinet hinges on the far side attached to 1/2" plywood. It still locks into the release, but is rock solid now.

Mine sags as well with all fasteners tightened... just seems to be how it behaves.

I thought of that too! We won't be using the external fridge as it is 120V only and we'll be boondocking more than on shore power. Plus, two of us will be fine with the internal ridge capacity.

Seems like this is the way to go. If mine is saggy on the inspection, I'll just leave it and do this type of rework.
