Jay Flight 19RD or Feather Sport 197

which do you prefer and why? I am leaning toward the 19RD for the following reasons:
1. Larger holding tanks
2. Aluminum siding instead of fiberglass-
3. more insulation- R22 if i get the thermal package v.s. only R9 on the roof of the Sport 197.
4. 19RD has the 15k BTU AC option

Any advantages to the Feather Sport 197?

The sport is lighter and has the slide. Thats the only real advantages that I see. The rd is a very nice floorplan for a smaller tt. I have the 19bh and we love it. We have 2 small children and it suits us fine. When they get a little bigger we may feel the need to switch to something a little longer. The rd floor plan I would prefer would be the one with the single bunk above the queen. I dont think you could go wrong with either one, but like you, I would lean toward the rd.

You also have to look at what will fit your needs a few years down the line. Kids grow and more room is needed. How long do you plan on keeping the trailer?

Thanks, I missed the RV show in Tulsa, OK this weekend so I either have to wait till fall for them to start up again or search the net and drive from dealer to dealer to look in person

BTW, when do RV year models change? Is it in the fall like trucks? Do they discount last year's trailers very much?

Some dealers have two year old left over models and most have last years models. Keep looking and you may find just what you need.

If you are lucky enough to find an "older" new tt at a dealer, make sure to check the NADA to see how much that year model goes for in todays market. I would suggest using the 'private party' number and work from there. Good Luck!
