Jay Flight 27BHS Bunk Sizes
The son has involuntary decided to follow in his old man's footsteps, and hit 6'-5". Bunks are a problem. We were almost ready to pull the trigger on a White Hawk 24MBH, but both kiddos complained about the bunks. The low headroom makes them feel too confined. So, we are looking at the Flight 27BHS. Can someone tell me what the bunks measure? I think crosswise, the son can make due, but I'd like to know the measurements to tweak our shortlist. Thanks!

Not at home to measure for sure, but I feel like 6'5" would be maxing out the bunks. I'm 6'2" and I feel like I don't have any more than 3" of extra room. Maybe less.

Thanks. I'm sure they aren't 77" long, but if they are 48" x 75", crosswise is 89". That may be enough. There really are no other options for families with tall kids. These manufacturers think that with ALL families with kids, the kids are short stumps. Some have tall trees! The only thing I can think of is a hybrid with 80" long beds, but we've been down that canvas road sweating in the summer and freezing in the fall. Nope. Not gonna do it.

THANK YOU BEARCAT!
Exactly what I needed.
Our local dealer had several, but they were popular and vaporized quickly. We have about 4 years before the kids go to college. I'm wondering if a "mom & pop" setup might be better. That would prevent us from needing bunks, and the kids could sleep in recliners and a hide-a-way. Ugh! Decisions, decisions.

I've got a 26bhs (which are probably identical bunks) and I barely fit at 6'1" but lying diagonal probably would help.
We don't use the upper bunk for sleeping, but it is handy for storage of light weight stuff to keep out of your way in the trailer.
In hindsight with a 1/2 ton TV, I would have probably gone with a smaller trailer, but we don't travel far, we have a tonne of space inside and I negotiated a price I was happy with.

4 years is a long time to be camping if the kids aren't comfortable. Even if they are going to college, chances are they will want to go camping some of the time.

I agree, but I'm thinking we'll be lucky to use it a few times a year, and soon afterward, the DW and I will wear it out going often. Just hate to buy it to trade off in a few years.

We just picked up a 27BHS 4 momths ago but we have 4 girls under 8 years. Oldly enough there is always the midnight shuffle with kids waking up or two of them decide they can't sleep together... so I've slept in the back bunk. I'm 6'4" and it's definitely a one person bed when your 6'. The mattress is comfy tho. Still I'd go for a Mom and pop in your situation,. Not the queen mattress has really fatigued after three camp trips. It seemed more resilient than that at first. I'm 210 lbs. and my wife is 170. So kinda sad that it's cratered so wuick

Get a trailer for you and a tent for them when they join you. At that size I don't think they would be happy in a bunk anyway.

Yep! Posed the question to both kids this spring, and they quickly gave up bunks for a large dinette or recliners.
We glamorous camp (glamp) so no heat, no air, no camping. Therefore, no tent. We have friends tag along at times, so a full hideaway bed would be a must over recliners, if possible.
