Jay Flight Furnace ? - This can't be right

I'm using the furnace in the 2018 Jay Flight (27BHS) for the first time and the ceiling vents are blowing cold air also. The furnace kicks on and I can feel the heat from the floor vents, but it's a wind storm from all the ceiling vents with cool air. I've closed all of the vents, but it doesn't block all the cool air and the noise is horrible. Should it be blowing like this from the ceiling with the furnace on?
TIA

Ours did this last trip and it turned out to be a leak from one of the propane hoses. Pull the cover and check. You’ll hear and smell it. It also stunk like propane from the exterior vent. Once we switched tanks it worked fine. Probably has something to do with it not having a good flame or the propane bottle is t on.

Well, the furnace seems to be operating fine. I just didn't think the ceiling vents were suppose to be blowing air also. I thought the furnace was only vented through the floor vents. The air from the floor vents is hot and the air blowing from the ceiling vents is cold???

Sounds like the a/c fan is running too. Could be a wiring issue at the thermostat. Do you have thermostat set for heat and auto?

Thank you! That solved it. It's the digital Dometic thermostat with only an option of "Furnace" for heat, but found I needed to turn the fan to auto first, as you suggested.

Yeah it has to be the a.c. fan as the furnace has separate ducting.

That's a new one, Never heard of that problem. It sounded like a thermostat problem. Glad it was a easy fix.

We were talking once about running the a/c fan to help distribute air throughout. Glad I didn't try it.

On the new Dometic you need to have a temperature separation between the cooling and heating setpoint otherwise if set the same temp both fans can potentially run.

jayco jayflight 2018 furnace to start

Hello,

I can hear my furnace click on but does not work. Propane works everywhere else, fuses all look fine. Hot water works etc. Any ideas?

If the furnace hasn't been run for a while, it sometimes takes 3 or 4 cycles until it fires up.

First timer question... obv...

I know the AC is 110v and requires too much power to try to run on batteries even if i did have an inverter which I don't think i do. If I don't have shore power I'll be hot. Use a 12v fan, or hook up a small generator.

But what about the furnace?

Does it strictly use propane? Does it use any 110v electricity or 12v battery?

Or can I fire it up anytime using just propane?

I know my on demand tankless water heater just requires propane and worked great boondocking around for a few days with water in the tank and no hookups.

Furnace needs battery power to run the blower.

On Dometic be sure not to overlap your heat/cool set points as this stat allows that. Keep the AC about 4 degrees higher than heat and you should be fine.

On my dometic digital thermostat, the ac fan setting needs to be off. Not auto, low, or high. When hooked to shore power.
