Jay Flight SLX 154BH A/C condensation leak

Wondering if anyone else has had this issue and has a solution.

The condensation from the A/C is not going outside at the back of the unit and instead is running into the camper on the bench seat or bed.

I have tried putting a steeper tilt on the unit, created a silicone barrier to force the water out rather than in, caulked every crack and crevice that I can find but I can’t seem to find a permanent fix.

The water seems to leak i to the overhead cabinet then thru the cabinet facing.

Anyone else had this problem and find a good fix?

My guess is water draining from the AC is leaking thru the AC roof seal and heading over towards your cabinet via the ceiling? Maybe you have a different system...my AC has drain holes on the base which allows water to run on the roof over to the gutters. I make sure those holes are clear and there's no leaves or nest around or in the AV which could cause issues. Also, trying to put a steeper tilt on the unit may have affected the seal/gasket and contributed to the issue...one more thing make sure you use the proper roof sealant like that Dicor lap sealant stuff or roof tape for any repair.

I suspect the op has a window unit in the side wall.

You are correct. It is a window unit. I have caulked and caulked but I thought maybe I am missing something that someone else may have discovered. Right now I am letting the bubble touch the line when I setup to try to keep it out.

My window unit also leaked one time. First I went outside and made sure the bottom drains through the trim were clear by shop vac suction and I used a stiff zip tie to probe around and loosen anything.
Then I went inside, took off the trim to expose the AC unit. I got a couple of composit (plastic??) door shims and lifted up a fraction of inch to tilt the unit a bit.

Not sure which fixed it but no inside drips since..

There is an old post that showed how to remove the AC unit completely but I don't know exactly how to find that post.

Interesting, I don't think I've ever seen a window AC in a RV before Is this a travel trailer or one of those motor homes? Also a level parking spot/setup or one leaning in your favor is important

It's a window type AC unit mounted in a framed hole in a side wall.

A lot of the SLX models come standard with a side mount (window) AC. In my 195RB we camped in Moab for several days and it put out enough cold to keep us comfortable in over 100 degree heat. As to leveling, I have had no problems using a comma shaped device by Andersen that makes side to side leveling a breeze. I don't worry about perfect leveling but have not had problems with fridge or AC.

I have a 2017 SLX model with a Coleman roof mount AC. I have honestly have never seen a side wall AC...is there any ceiling ducting and vents like in mine or just the wall grill? Is that more for smaller RV's? Gonna goggle a pic

Mine has side AC with a roof mounted intake that is the same as the vent for larger refrigerators. The fresh air is pulled down through the roof vent and then sent out the side wall vent that has a mesh covering.

The roof mount AC is an upgrade unless 2025 specs have changed. As the units get bigger than 20 feet this system is not used.

There are models still today by Jayco that offer through the wall or option 'up' to rooftop A/C. EXAMPLE: 2025 Jay Flight SLX 175BH. Standard wall A/C or upgrade to rooftop A/C. Replace wall A/C with a cabinet if you option in the rooftop AC.
