Jayco 2008 26BHS G2 Battery Cable questions.

Just purchased this trailer and I'm planning some upgrades.
Looking to install a converter with smart charging (PD 9245). Markings on the battery wires to the existing converter appear to be 10 gauge (coatings a bit faded to read the numbers)? Is that the size they installed? Seems awfully small gauge considering the length is around 20 feet from battery to converter?
I'm thinking that it should be 2 gauge in order to get the most out of the new converter?
Thoughts?

Forgot to mention that i plan to upgrade the batteries 2x6v deep cycle. I plan to do a fair bit of boon docking with this trailer and recharge with my Champion Generator.

#10 is fine there is no high current draw like there would be with an Inverter.

My 2016 Jayflight is 6 awg. You sure it’s only 10.

I installed a pd converter and at 14.4 volts bulk I get 13.6 at the battery. Lucky I have solar too which gets to 14.4 at the terminals.

I confirmed that the wire is number 10 on the positive, number 8 on the negative. Looks like I'll be deck mounting the new charger near the battery and just use it for the generator.
Ran the battery down to 12.1 Volts this weekend. Took 8 hours to bring it back to 12.8 V...that's way too long to run the generator when boon docking.

Thanks for the responses...
