I don't know the coupler height of the 29BHS, but my '05' Eagle is 22" to the top of the ball coupler (TT level), and my ball coupler is welded to the bottom of the TT A-frame. Give the dealer or Jayco a call, they can confirm the ball coupler height of 29BHS. I thought I remember someone saying the 29BHs was around 22 3/4", I could be mistaken.

The dealer can torque the ball mount nuts, or you can torque the nuts to 150ft/lbs using standard torque wrench, remove the torque wrench, then use a breaker bar and turn the nuts an additional 1/4 turn.

Hope this helps.

Bob

I just went to a truck shop and had them tighten the ball nut with a 3/4 inch drive impact wrench. Just make sure the lock washer is totally compressed.

I emailed Jayco about the coupler height for our Eagle Super Lite 308RETS on order as it will be here soon and I need to get a hitch. Their email address is on the Contact Jayco page on their Web site. They replied it was 27.25" which frankly surprised me, as that is rather high I thought for a frame w/ a coupler on the bottom of the tongue rails (vs. on the top rails). I went to the dealer's this weekend and measured and lo and behold, that model parallel to the ground is really 27.25"! That necessitates me purchasing a separate shank w/ a longer rise for the Equal-i-zer hitch system I want to order. Anyway, you may want to give Jayco a holler to see what they say is the coupler height.

Mike,

I'm not surprised with the 308RETS, they can vary from one model to the next. A number of things can impact coupler height: Tire size, type of axle, type of slide mechanism, height of slide, not loaded, A-frame width, etc..

I wonder if there is a standard coupler height (or dimensional window) that RV manufactures design to??
