I'm guessing it is based on who was working the line that day...

My 2015 "cheap seats" 19RD has the lift assists. While other nicer RV's do not.

MY 174bh didn't come with them and I'm thinking about installing them.

Plan on a long day.. Ours did not go in in the direction the directions called for.. ok say that fast. Required a little temporary install.

It seems you have a more confined space to work in but its not all that hard.

Took me 20 minutes to install mine on my 174BH... They make a kit you can get at Camping World... When I went to test it, somehow one of my measurements was off an inch... Found out the hard way by trying to close it all the way and it ripped everything out on one side... Extended out and inch and it's perfect... What I get for having the wife help! LOL

Our framing in our unit was different and due to structural supports we found we had to reverse the direction

Your bed does not look like ours exactly

Our 195RB didn't come with them either so I added them as well. As Kim Gass stated on the 195RB the direction needed to be reversed. The problem was when the bed was down and the struts compressed it created enough force pulling away from the head of the bed that it started pulling the 2x2 at the head of the bed out and ripped the plywood off the hinges. After replacing the hinges with something more appropriate and adding in some extra support to keep the 2x2 at the head of the bed tight it's been working great.
