Jayco Feather x213 Water Heater

Do you drain your water heater after you are done and packing up? We were told to do so but it seems like a pain in the butt. Thanks.

If and when you decide to empty your hot water tank, do the drain hose mod. Makes it a lot easier.

Interesting to note his change of heart on the water heater drain:

"Update: In reality I only ever drained the water heater once per year at the end of the season. Then I had to remove my hose contraption away to get after the tank with my flushing tool. So I scrapped the above hose and drain valve arrangement and went back to the stock nylon plug."

I only drain my water heater at the end of the season when I bypass it and winterize.

I don't see the point of doing it any more often than that.

I drain ours if we aren't going to use the htt for 2 or more weeks. I also will drain if the place we stayed at has icky water.

I did a simular mod as linked above. However I used a 1/4 turn valve for a bathroom sink, as it already had a short handle.
