Jayco Jay Flight 23RB

Hi. New to the forum and new to RVing.

I have a new Jayco Jay Flight 23RB arriving within a few weeks. I am a professional photographer and I will use it to travel around the west making photos for ~8 months out of the year. I am making some changes to the new unit to suit my needs, including the removal of the dinette. In its place I'm putting a desk, from which I will edit photos and video.

I am now looking into how I power items on my desk, given there is no outlet (along either of those walls). I would like to run some electrical raceway in the corner going up towards the AV shelf/bay above the standard stereo.

This is my question:

What is in the bay to the right of the stereo? Is there easy access to the stereo and that bay next to the stereo from the AV shelf/bay above it? I would want to drill a hole through both and run a cord from the outlet there to a power strip attached under the desk.

AND, alternatively, I have some LED displays I would like to add (i.e. solar charge controller, low battery alarm, etc.). Without knowing what's behind that black space next to the radio I'm wondering if that is even possible.

Thank you very much for your assistance. I look forward to contributing.

i just bought a 23RB. i was told that you can easily get to the iRV system simply by removing the four screws and it slips right out. There isn't anything on the side of it.

If that's the case then I should have no problem doing what I want to do. Thanks!

Congratulations! on the new TT, and welcome to The Forum. Keep in mind, the radio runs off 12V power, but you may find 120V in the entertainment center to power the television. Good luck with your project!

Welcome. We have a 23 FB which is almost identical to yours. Great trailer and never regretted getting it.

Todd, I just took a quick look at several of your galleries on your website. Beautiful work! When I have the time I'll go back and view the remaining galleries. Can't wait to see more of your work as you travel around with your new Jayco.

It would seem that there's an outlet in the back of the AV bay/shelf with two outlets. The plan is to put a power strip in there to feed my WiFi Ranger, Dish Network receiver, etc. From the other outlet I plan to attach another power strip/surge protector with a long cord through the hole(s) and along the raceway to my desk where I will attach it underneath my desk. I have no plans to tap into the 12V power because I have a solar system + inverter and don't really need to do so.

Two things.

Which NFL team do you own?

And, are you hiring for an photography assistant? I shoot Nikon, and I have about 19 years experience.

Green Bay Packers.

And no, I'm not needing an assistant just yet, but maybe soon. I have been very busy. Maybe I will meet someone along the way who wants to hitch a ride. Never know.

ME! I want to hitch a ride! LOL I can carry your bags, adjust your lighting, hold your reflectors, carry your extra bodies, organize your memory cards, inventory your equipment.... I mean really, lets just get right down to business. Where should I send my resume? LOL

And do you own OWN, or are you one of the 360K stockholders?

Those 360,000 shareholders are the owners of the Packers. There is no Daddy Warbucks when it comes to the Packers. Never has been. And had it not been for shareholders the Packers probably would have ceased to exist on at least 4 or 5 different occasions. Miller Brewing Company is the largest shareholder only because it has acquired different companies over the past 60 years that also owned stock and they still own less than 5% of the Packers. And according to the Packers legally binding bylaws I am an owner, which is more than any other fan of any other NFL team can say.

And as far as the assistant position, let's wait and see how I do through July. That said, I don't think I can hire anyone who shoots Nikon.
