Jayco JayFlight Trim Colors - Black and White

I was in the market for a Jayco Jay Flight 23MB the past few days. I just placed the order on Friday and I am really excited to get our new TT!! At any rate, something came up that I wanted to bring to your attention if you're ordering soon. I discovered there are two different trim colors on the camper. The weird part is that the "black" and "white" color option are not listed on the website. If you place the order, I guess it's luck of the draw as to what you get. The 2015's mostly have black trim in my area but we found a few 2015's on the lot that used white. When I asked the dealer about it, they said they never noticed the variance in colors. Check out the attached image that I made to show the dealer the difference.

Just thought that I would mention it, if you like one color over the other you should specify before you order.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the new trailer.

I'm a bit color blind, but EVEN I can tell the difference between black and white. It's hard to believe they didn't notice and wonder why they'd say that? When I ordered mine, the dealer never mentioned specifying a preference. It seemed to me it was probably driven by what was available.

I've noticed, too, that the floor plans don't always agree 100% with the photos of the units on the dealers lots; like the side the bathroom door is hinged on.

We purchased a 24 FBS September 2014. A friend of mine works at the factory, he said they switched trim and awning colors 1/2 way throught the production year. We ordered in late August and got the black trim.

We got the black and prefer it with the black awning and slide top. Surprised ours didn't come with a black AC shroud to match everything else, but in reality I like the white shrouds on an AC for less heat absorption.

Only thing I didn't like with the dark trim was the black air-conditioning shroud. Might look better and not as dirty over time but to me this is the area that transfers heat from the coil and black draws heat. I notice on the pic with black trim the air unit is white ... hummm

Ok if my Jay Flight is on order now does this mean it will be black trim? The one the dealer had was white. I think the black looks nice I wonder how it will hold its color though or if it will become grey over time.

That's a good question. It seems that it would be black if they switched everything over that way. I guess you will have to wait and see. You could always call the dealer and see what they say.... They would probably know if the recent ones have all come in with black.

I asked the same question when we ordered our new trailer in November. I said if I had a choice I would prefer the black trim. I was told that it was not an option. Our new unit arrived January 22 with black trim. I think most of the new units will be black.

I ordered mine last Feb and it came with white trim. I'm happy with it, but the black does look good.

I have a Brand new 2015 Jayco 26 BHS. I ordered the camper back in september. We picked it up a few weeks back. I did not know there was a new color scheme. The dealer did not mention any change. Im not sure if they were aware or not. We actually thought we were getting a 2014 but apparently they started making the new model year already. We have a really good dealer in our area, they didn't even act like it was a big deal or tried to change the price. They actually were able to get us some incentives and a few extras we didn't even ask for.
