JAYCO poor quality and service

On 4/14/2015 I purchase a ned 2014 338RETS JAYCO Travel Trailer, vin IUJBJ0BU1E1CD0166, from Albany RV (RVONE Supertore).
Since mid-April, I have made several request to the Albancy RV/RVONE Superstore and JAYCO to fix/repair the following:
(very disappointed in quality of this “new” trailer)

TV stopped working on the second day we used it.
Sliding door between bedroom and bathroom broke within a week of our first trip
Bedroom Slideout does not come in correctly (binds)
Molding is coming off in several places
Stairs are bent and need replacement
Leaking skylight over dining table (table is to be replaced)
Remote for slideout did not work
Recliners to be installed in place of misinstalled couch, was advertised and sold not the way it was delivered
Underbelly is coming off
Dining room chair bottom is falling off
Front had to be repainted and is already pealing

Also called on 4 August to get update on furniture delivery and was told that delivery would be 2 Sep. I arranged to get a substitute for my class (I teach) and took a day of leave. No furniture arrived and when I called, I was told it needed to be rescheduled again.

Was told someone would call to arrange for repairs (no one called, so I called and still waiting for service call)

I joined this group about a year and a half ago. My first post was how many problems I too had with my then new 2014 Jayco Swift. (incidentally I also bought mine from Albany RV).
Because of the months wait to have Rvone look at the problem I instead fixed or not bothered to fix all problems myself. I have since chimed in about Jayco quality from other post similar to yours.
However, (and not to make excuses for poor workmanship and cheap materials) I have done a complete 180 on my thoughts about my Jayco travel trailer.
We are ending a summer of camping every weekend using the camper and would not have traded the good times for anything. We've enjoyed the solitude, campfires, stars at night, a hungry bear, a monster snapping turtle, a pissed off otter and all the other fun times with family and friends all with the comforts of home. We live for camping and my Jayco allows us to do it in style.
Good luck with your problems and don’t let it ruin the potential great times I’m sure you and your family will have in the future.

First sorry for the laundry list of issues. I would find a reputable dealer to fix the issues and work on the unit. I bought my first unit from Albany, but had no warranty work done there due to distance. Having a good dealer is key when it comes to new ownership IMHO. I opted to pay a little more to the local dealer who took care of my first Jayco when we upgraded.

If you provide some of your local area dealers I am sure a member here can guide you towards one that will fix your issues to your liking. While some say they won't work on a unit not bought from them, many look at it as an opportunity to acquire a new customer.

Have you contacted Jayco directly about your problems and lack of service? If not, I would do that and find out where you can take your trailer for repairs.

Other than the TV it never should have left the dealer's lot IMO.

So you now think Jaco quality and workmanship is good?

dhh7, good question!
No, it could be better for sure but weighing the problems to fun ratio I think overall I'm ahead.

Last year I purchased a 2014 White Hawk 27RBOK after looking at several different models, within the same price range and size, by other manufacturers. What I found is that the Jayco product, that I eventually purchased, was the better buy considering fit and finish, style, materials and construction. Not to mention a two year warranty. I did have a few problems: DVD player crapped-out within 45 minutes of first use; outside speakers fell apart on the third camping trip and the outdoor fridge didn't work from the very beginning (although the dealer said everything worked while in the lot). Everything was taken care of in three to six weeks by the dealer and it's been great ever since. Now the front cap is fading and I'm waiting to hear back from Jayco for repainting. The thing is, I believe no matter what you buy you take a risk - what matters is how the manufacturer responds. With so many problems, a well thought-out letter to Jayco might make a world of difference. No company wants to see the kind of problems (so many) you've experienced on the web for potential customers to see. Trailer Life has a consumer advocate - maybe you should make contact.

From reading forums and from some personal experience, I think that most lower price and middle of the road price trailers are crap. I also think that Jaycos are less crappy than most. And one of things most important to liking a new trailer is a quality dealer.

We bought our 2015 195RB from RVONE, albeit the Buffalo store. We were impressed on how the sale was finalized, as well as the follow-up by their Transportation Manager (located in Albany), who made the arrangements to have it delivered and set up.

Our PDI was impressive as well. We have owned a camper for 27 years now, but our previous experience with a used unit was not nearly as impressive.

Its been a year now and so far the Jayco has been 100% reliable. There has not been 1 single thing that needed to be fixed or adjusted.

I did my homework as far as Jayco is concerned. If I had known about the RVONE complaints I might have reconsidered, although the nearest other dealer is too far away to even consider.

As they say: "Your mileage may vary".
