Jayco sandwich flooring construction on new models
I've read so much negative on Jayco sandwich flooring construction between 07 n 12 models that it worries me. Has anybody experienced any soft spots on the floors and megnoylium splitting on you new TT??? Has Jayco taken out the bugs out on the sandwiched flooring issue?? Are we good to go? I just want sleep well.
Any updates on this type of flooring?
Owner of a new 2014 197 Ultra.

I have a 2010 Hybrid with this floor and used a good 12 weeks a year and no problems. It does freeze in the winter going down into the teens and 20s and again no problems and I do have a 36" wide slideout.

Hi touch,
Sleep well. Have fun with the trailer. Water is the enemy, so do what you can to keep the roof sealed, the doors and windows caulked, and all bathroom water in the sink/shower/toilet.
There's nothing you can really do, so no need to worry yourself sick. Realize you are only seeing the 1% if the trailers' owners complaints online. Theres another 99% of the THOUSANDS of trailers made without any complaining at all.
If you do develop some soft spots, they can be fixed if you are very handy.

Had a new 2014 and the floor came apart the first trip out, they fixed it and it came apart again. I took it back to them after that and left it there for good, never again!

Ham and cheese sandwich flooring is okay. Just avoid the peanut butter and jelly
I have also heard that the sandwich flooring is much softer than the plywood flooring. Doesn't mean it is bad, just different. As long as it does not get wet and rot, it should be okay.

Mine didn't get wet and it fell apart, the floors in these trailers do have soft spots in them, when you walk on them they flex up and down and it just keeps getting softer and softer over time, then the glue that holds it together lets go and then your in big trouble.

Yes, ours is very bad. Will use it as long as possible, then junk it.

Not true. What % of owners don't even read the net or even care about going to a forum. Several friends of mine don't belong to any RV forum but have problems with their trailers. They all have different brands. The internet is not a good barometer for problems. No one really knows how many with problems come on the net. Under that logic it means that as an example a couple guys on here complain of a spongy floor. I find that hard to believe that out of 100's or 1000's made only a couple guys are having issues. Doesn't mean it's a model wide issue. It just means that those that read the net and specifically read a forum pertaining to their brand and a have an issue are talking about it. Quite a coincidence that just those that post here have issues.

Maybe. Who really knows?
What I do know is this... Only the angry, hurt, and down trodden ever take the time to post/complain/whine about their problems. You will NEVER find a thread on the net "I love my trailer, just because."

If you think that Only the angry, hurt, and down trodden ever take the time to post/complain/whine about their problems you should read the Jayco Problems and Issues Forum. Its right down at the bottom forum jump. I think I would have left goducks alone. Merry Christmas Happy New Year guys.

How was anyone specifically calling out anyone else?
As a new member of this community, how the heck am I or anyone else supposed to "know" who the king pins are, and "who to leave alone"?

Ok guys, as long as I seal her tight. Inspect the plumbing every time we take her out, I should be ok. I was told to be like a RAT when inspecting it.
Keep her on your 12. I sure will.
Thanks!!

WRONG! I my self and others have made post on here about how we "love our trailers"
The Jayco that I have now is a very very good trailer, I have stated so in other post, But the truth is the one before it was a total piece of junk. Jayco even knew it, that's why they took it back, the truth is the truth no matter how much it my hurt.
I've talked to a lot of people at the campgrounds, who has that type of floor, and they all say the floor is very weak.
Merry Christmas to all, and my God bless!

Ok, ok, I'm sorry. I was in a "kick-the-dog" foul mood earlier.
And by the way...
"I love my jayco trailer".

Thankfully there are no kings or big dogs here at JOF. Except maybe for nambarc.

Nambarc is a little different alright, but I hope he finds something under the tree!

That may be mostly true, but if our rig develops a problem I'd let others know so they might not be taken by surprise. And since it's been 99% trouble free over nearly four years of use and abuse, I sure wouldn't be angry, hurt or down trodden.
