Jayco White Hawks and Gens

Thinking of a TT instead of a new Class C. Good excuse to get a new pick-up also
We will be traveling with our pair of Golden Retrievers and it's imperative that they stay cool when we're not with them (shopping etc etc)

Now I am pretty impressed with the room and accommodations that a TT can offer. Looking at Winnie Plus, Grand Design Reflections, Jayco White Hawks. I love the floor plan of the 32KBS. For a tow veh. it will be a Ford F-250 short bed with a shell on it for storage.
How would you consider the quality of the White Hawk in comparison of the Winnie Plus and the Grand Design?

One of the reasons I like a Class C is that they have a gen. already on board. If at a site with power I would have a auto gen start in case electric was lost at the post for what ever reason.

Are there any good options for transporting and using a Inverter/Gen on or in a TT? Keeping it secure in the truck bed won't do much good if we're running errands etc with the furry kids left behind in the TT. I would worry about leaving a Gen unattended when we left, don't want it to grow legs and walk away
Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions

We picked up our Whitehawk last Sept. and have enjoyed it so far. Quality is fine, and everything has worked flawlessly so far. Not sure how it compares to the others. We do dry camp on occassion, and I haul the genny in the back of the truck. We use a bike cable lock to lock it to a tree. Happy Shopping!

If you don't mind drilling in to your truck bed, these are pretty cool for securing a generator. I'm assuming that it could be mounted to the trailer tongue or frame if you have room.

The Winnie Plus and Grand Design, I believe is a little better quality in construction. With that being said we really like our White Hawk. Generally, the WH will be slightly less expensive on comparable floor plans.

That is a great looking bracket! Kinda pricey but what isn't? That should fit good probably on a trailer tongue or possibly on the rear bolted to a carrier platform. The addition of a solar power motion light mounted above it would make a good deterrent after dark.
Thanks for the great idea

I'm not sure what options you can use for mounting a generator to the trailer that would be safe (free of exhaust) and secure (robust enough to survive traveling and secure from theft).

Between the three, the GD Reflection gets my vote...., IMO a much better equipped and built TT then the lightweight models (ie; White Hawk, etc.).

When I was considering going with a larger TT prior to my 24RBS Jay Flight purchase, the Reflection 297RSTS was at the top of my short list followed by Arctic Fox/Silver Fox Edition and Jayco Eagle.

I would agree, but when we purchased our White Hawk last year there was a considerable price difference between the White Hawk and the comparable Reflection. Consider part of that being we had a Class C to trade in/sell. So it all really depends.

To answer the original question, on the White Hawk, there is plenty of room on the tongue to mount a generator and secure it if you wanted to go that route.

Having had trailers and class Cs, it's a tough choice between the two. There are tradeoffs either way.
