Jaycos Roofs

So I was inspecting my trailer before the snow flys. She is all cover up now. However I thought Jayco screwed there roof down. After crawling around the roof, I could see like U shaped staples under the rubber roof. Whats up with that. has anyone else seen this.

That's another flaw in manufacturing, it shouldn't be. Look at the assembly video then you know why that happen. As long there isn't any moister under the membrane and don't walk on the staples you should be OK. I think we all have a few flaws in our roofs, I do.

They say it is screwed at the seams for better strength. There is no claim that the entire roof is fastened with screws. Most other manufacturers staple the entire roof including the seams,

They lead you to believe that they don't use staples.

They do more than lead you...I would say based on that Jayco Web page there is no excuse for finding staples on the roof

OK grumpy is right if they claim at the seams than I guess you could find staples elsewhere

Just did a factory tour on 21 November at the Jayco plant in Middlebury, IN. Watched them install the roof sheating and staples were used to hold the plywood temporarly but they did go back over it and fasten with screws.

Yeah when they don't shoot the staple deep enough they probably don't correct by hammering down, because where is the hammer. The alpha roof glue rollers run right after the screw-ers. And then when they pull the Alpha roof blanket over it, it is to late for the staple.
But mistakes happen "Jayco" still has the strongest roof.
Didn't hear any complaints out Buffalo yet on the Jayco units.
