I would say Yes depending on exactly what you are looking for in a trailer. Keep in mind that the SLX is the lower end of Jayco's model offerings as far as equipment is concerned. Moving to the Feather will give you some options that may or may not be offered on the SLX. My Feather has gas/electric water heater, aluminum wheels, fiberglass exterior, etc.
The difference in cost is easy in my mind to justify since you are getting higher level of equipment.
Also keep in mind that the Feather is a light weight constructed trailer. You may want to read about the specific construction of each unit and see what meets your needs best.
