Jayflight 174BH water line size

Is there a better way to secure/repair this connector? What is the size of this piece? What is this call? Can we source it from Home Depot? Thanks.

There is supposed to be a piece of wood holding under the hot water tank, but the factory didn’t bother to install it. My hot water tank was bumping up and down during the road trip.

Measure it and look on Amazon or take it with you to Home Depot. I'm assuming the pipe broke or did it you cut it? I would buy the proper pex tool for those fittings which can remove those rings/clips and install them. You'll need to remove the top clip and the pc of broken pipe, insert your new fitting with a new clip and pinch it on. Install the pc of missing wood and hand tighten your new fitting...should be good. It's good practice to check and tighten these screw on fittings every now and again.

It snapped during the trip.

Do you know the white plastic lines Jayco use? Is it CPVC or PEX-B? Is there any reason they don’t colour code them?

Thanks

Pretty sure it's 1/2" Pex. That's what's in my 2017 Jayco. Blue, red and white pipes are all the same size and rating if that's what your asking? There could be writing on the pipe...just remove that whole white pc from the tee fitting and take it to Home Depot. I see that tool with rings on Amazon for $46 Canadian, probably $26 American

My HWT is resting on a sheet of styrofoam (originally installed) in 2010.

Curious how you're making out @3...it's a fairly easy job if you have the right tools and some room Maybe a pc of wood and some spray foam is a good easy way to secure the tank?

I finally received the PEX kit yesterday.

I took the first ring off.

That line was very loose and turning easily. It just wouldn’t let me pull it out. Applied some heat to the end using a lighter to finally managed to pull it off.

Going to Home Depot to look for replacement fittings.

Repair has finally completed. $40 PEX tool kit, $10 PEX line and $10 connectors (pack of 5).

I am comfortably saying that I am ready for the next water leak event at this RV.

Except for the red pipe it looks like nothing happened So Home Depot had that fitting as well? Nice job Pam, it looks professional with how straight everything is...you didn't forget about supporting the tank with something because you were busy admiring your plumbing job did you? A good tool investment for sure, and as you say, ready for the next event. Calling in a pro plumber would of cost you probably three times as much.

This was my first time replacing a PEX line, and it turned out to be a valuable learning experience. It’s definitely worth investing the time to acquire a new trade skill that can be useful for life.

I chose a 5-pack of Brass Crimp Fittings from Amazon and reused the original swivel adapter.

I've found the easiest way to remove a pex clamp is by using a Dremel with a cutoff disc. Cut through the top of the pinch part of the clamp (width wise) and the whole clamp will come off without damaging the PEX pipe.
