Jayflight 195RB Propane tank mount

The propane tank is mounted using 2 bolts on the bottom ring of the tank. The top of the tank can move left and right about 3 inches very freely. It is a 2020 model. Has anyone done a modification to stabilize this? Please include pictures if possible.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new 195RB! We had one for almost 5 years and it served us very well.

There are some good fixes in the thread MontanaRick found if you have the 20lb tank. Our 195RB was the Baja Edition with the larger 30lb tank. I didn't find nearly as many options for the 30lb tank and ended up doing my own thing as seen here:

https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f...ort-26070.html

We only filled the propane tank once or twice an entire season so this was fine for our needs.

My bottle jiggles a little but I hated taking out those crappy bolts. I replaced with two safety pins like this one. Much easier to remove and take off tank to check or fill. Before it took 15 minutes to get it off. I don't worry about theft or I could use a lock for one of them.

Mine was the same way when I brought it home. I wanted a second tank just for back up and ordered a twin tank rack to mount on the front. Holds two tanks nice and solid. Did not cost much either.

Same problem with my 2015 185RD Baja: 30 lb tank with nothing more than the 2 bolts on the very bottom holding it in place. It wobbles all over the place, which is completely unacceptable for an "offroad" trailer.

On the same lot are other used and new Baja models with this awesome propane tank mount that holds the 30lb tank rock solid. It has posts on both sides that bolt to the frame. I'm checking with the dealer to see if this is OEM or some kind of add-on.

What Roger R said. While the mounting seems unstable we have not yet lost a tank in four years and over 70,000 miles including a lot of dirt road travel. Those OEM bolts suck to get off in the rain.

My dealer found the bracket that seems to be standard issue on Baja trailers 2016 and later. Here is the order tag in case you'd like to track one down. No more fussing with the chintzy bottom bolts.
