We would like to have a box or cage that we can lock, built on the back bumper to hold a Honda 2200 generator. Does anyone know the weight limit on this bumper?

Thanks in advance. New to the RV life and really appreciate everyone's knowledge.

What I've done in the past is to fab up a 2" receiver mount that was tied into the frame rails, with brackets that also attached it to the bumper (with square "U" bolts). The bumpers aren't really designed to carry much weight. Then you can use a commercially available carrier...also works with a hitch mount bike carrier, flag pole holders, etc...

Just a word of caution, the weight that you hang off the back can upset the balance of the trailer if you don't offset it with some weight towards the hitch. I had this occur with an older 21' HiLo Towlite that we occasionally pulled with a marginally sized Ford Exploder. The tail could wag the dog...
