JT Strongarms or Steadyfast

Has anyone installed either of these products on a TT? What was the result?

Did the JT's on my 5'er. Work great at taking out the wiggle. If you cannot get the angle right as shown online through the installation video it will be tough to achieve the optimal angles. You will want to crank up on the stabilizers by about a 1/2 inch above where you want them to settle, tighten the arms then lower to apply pressure to them. Repeat on the rear. If you have a tray system you will need to come up with another mounting method in the rear. I think the cheaper versions are just as effective in stabilizing.

I've had both... JT on my old TT... Steadyfast on my current 5er.

Both are good... but Steadyfast is quicker during setup/take down, better made, and in my opinion... works better because it is heavier duty.

Thanks. I should have been clearer. Every video I've found use fivers as the example. I'm looking for experience with TTs, bumper pulls. And i appreciate the opinion on Steadyfast over JT.

I used JT on my TT. Even though I'm now using Steadyfast on my 5er... my opinion is the same.

I believe Steadyfast to be superior in its design, build, and functionality regardless of use on a TT or 5er.

I put the Steadyfast system on my 32BHDS and have been happy with it. It does eliminate most of the wiggle, but not all (my expectations may have been too high). I chose this system because the install was easier and there were just fewer pieces in general. It took me about two hours to install it in the storage yard with basic tools and a cordless drill. The system is easy to use on setup and tear down, and you can install it if you have a sliding tray (which I do).

I think the key is in how many you apply to a point. If you have 2 rear facing and 2 inner facing on one stabilizer you are going to experience a whole lot more stability. If however you only put 4 on 4 points and have them opposing one another you most likely will not get the full effect as there is still one direction of motion left on each point. In the 5th wheel case there 6 arms sold and are 2 directional points of contact on the front legs and only one on the rear which leaves the rear to wiggle in one direction. I have seen in the TT versions only 4 included which I think is where the issue is.

No matter what you put them on having 8 on 4 points would achieve the greatest results no matter which you choose. At the very least do 6 with 2 on 2 points of contact.
