Just bought a 2012 jayco 26 bh and very excited

I am excited. Finally found a bunkhouse model in our price range and near us. Just bought it tonight. Yay! Been looking for a while. I am excited because the trailer we just sold had an awful jackknife sofa and delamination on the front. Now the teen will have a big bunk bed and the entire trailer is nice looking. We are wondering about what kind of roof is on it. The seller stated it was the good roof "the metal one." We live in the Pacific northwest so I assume covering it is a good idea since our rv spot does not have a roof. Any other suggestions?
Yay!! Happy to be a jayco owner now!

Never heard of a metal roof on 2012!

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new Jayco.

As far as the roof is concerned, I would assume that it has a standard RV roof membrane. Climb up there and take a look.

Our 2012 Jay Flight has an Alpha Systems roof membrane, I don't think you'll find a metal roof on it, either, unless someone replaced it with one.

Congrats on your purchase. Thats a very popular floor plan .....your teen is going to enjoy the bunk over a jackknife sofa for sure( who can sleep on those). It's not a metal roof, unless a stated, someone has changed something. You need to get up there for sure and look..... not only to know what it is, but also to inspect the caulking. Your other trailer had delamination, probably for that exact reason. You won't see delamination on the Jayflight because of the aluminum exterior, but water damage will be hidden. Gently walk around the roof, checking for soft spots, inspect all the caulking looking for cracks / openings, especially where roof and front wall meet. Purchase some dicor sealer and caulk any suspected spots. RV roofs need to be maintained. Good luck and congrats again!

We also have a 26bh, and we love it.
Our kids like their bunks, although they sometimes choose to share the bottom one.
The roof is likely the standard rubber roof unless previous owners replaced it.
