Keeping little critters out
Does anyone think spraying the tongue jack and the spring shackles with a spray lithium grease would help keep the little critters out? Make the surfaces slippery where they couldn't climb up and in?
Just a thought.

Nope - not a bit! Those things are just too resourceful and will find a way lol! I think even if David Copperfield suspended it in the air 10 feet with nothing all around - they would still find a way! How they do it - I dont know....
I remove all my drawers and stack them on the table and leave all my lower cabinets open. That seems to lessen the nests. Last year I got a few of those ultrasonic repellers at Costco...I didnt have much hope, but they seem to help some believe it or not. I also use sticky traps in several corners.
I hate those things!!

Get "Mouse Pouches". Some rv dealers have them. They are cheapest on Amazon. You'll never have a winter critter again!!!!

The best way to keep them out is to seal any cracks and crevices with brass wool or steel wool. Remove any scented items that will attract them, and I sprinkle a box of mothballs under the trailer to keep them away. Some say that mothballs don't work, but it has to overpower any scents that will draw rodents into the camper. I have been doing this since 1996 and have not had a problem with rodents in the camper.

I went searching amazon for MOUSE POUCHES and all I could find was for computer mouse...
I did find this item however... appearently they will fall into a trash can and can't get out???

So after they fall into the bucket what do you do with them? My best mouse trap is my cat Jet. He also disposes of the dead mice, rabbits, squirrles, etc, after he offers them to me. He does the offering by leaving the rodents on the back porch. He doesn't go camping though.

I just setup my toilet paper thing yesterday in my 5th wheel. I haven't figured out yet where I will dump my captured mouse hehe. Probably dump it behind the neighbors house in the woods line. I guess the mouse gets one last good meal before getting banned outside in the cold. I had a good size peanut butter serving on the inside of the toilet paper roll. I had about the same size helping first then put another one inside the paper tube...
This may end up like using mouse traps - seems like if you catch one in a trap you have to throw the trap away as the next mouse senses what happened to the first mouse...
Its still dark here so will check my trailer in about 30 minutes or so...

^ no need. Where there is 1 there are prob 20 somewhere close. Just put it in a box and take it a mile or so down the road and release it into a wooded area. The goal is to seal up your TT to where they wont be able to enter again and rid those that are trapped inside by using the above method.

Nope the sonic noise things do not work for me. Moth balls do not work, laundry dryer sheets they love and I stuffed all the places where I thought mice could come in. I cleaned on Sunday.......mouse evidence in drawers this morning. grrr
