All the commentary and voting needed on this inevitably controversial subject.

Thank you Crabman!!

It is AMAZING that 97.48% of those that voted are not in my category. Nambarc would be proud of me!

It's not illegal to travel with propane on. The only debate is whether it's unwise or not.

The above said, most, if not all, tunnels require the propane to be turned off.

And there are few tunnels where propane is prohibited all together. Some notable ones are the two at Baltimore, I-95 and I-895. But the Francis Scott Key Bridge (I-695) around the eastern side of Baltimore is open to propane carrying vehicles.

All of the tunnels in Virginia only require that propane is turned off before going through the tunnel.

I was ignorant until I read the forums on refrigerator types.

So much mis-information on this thread...propane is NOT gasoline, and is extremely difficult to ignite in open atmosphere...propane will only ignite within a very small window of air/propane mixture...your gas tank is many times more dangerous than your propane tank.

Agree. Gasoline is much, much more flammable than propane is.

The flammable gas to air mixture is much narrower for propane than it is for gasoline.

I'm much more concerned about a spark of any kind while filling my truck with gasoline.
