Kitchen Bulb replacement

What's up with this? Bulb over sink went out on '06 31BHDS and I can't get the bulb out! I pushed up on a plastic 'tab' and the thing popped out with the wires now showing and the bulb still intact ?

I did the same thing. YOu don't have to push the tab, the bulb itself will pull out of the holder.

My bulbs are wedge based, and they (after a struggle) POP OUT. I would guess the heat sticks bulb and plastic base somewhat. A twist or two and a hard pull gets mine out.

When you put the new one in, smear some dielectric grease on the bulb base. Makes installing and removing bulbs much easier, and protects the contact points from arcing.

What really is a 921 Bulb ?

I ordered replacements bulbs for CODE 921. I get a bunch of these really MINI replacement bulbs (Much smaller than the 921 marked bulbs now in the Jayco) with a wedge replacement base. I don't know if they are compatible? I know they are either Halogen or Incandescent. They are marked as T15- 12V16W. Why is this SOOOOO confusing?

The 921s I'm used to are 18w, so you're in the neighborhood.

If you have a lot of problems with bulbs going out, you could buy some paddle style LEDs like these (hopefully the link works since I'm doing this on my phone):

Replaced all the 921s on my old trailer with the smaller 3w version (180 lumens), but the one I linked to is a 5w (300 lumens) which is more comparable with the normal 18w 921 (280 lumens). The 3w were obviously 60% less power hungry, but were also dimmer.

I never had one go out in about 3 years after that.
