Kitchen Sink replacement
Has anyone had any success replacing the factory plastic sink with an aftermarket stainless model? We have had our trailer for 6 months and the cheap stock one is all beat up. I inquired with the dealer and they quickly dismissed the idea.

Depends on how it's mounted. Ours is an undermount so I'd need a new countertop if I swapped it as they are bonded on.

Wow...your dealer dismissed it.
So he discouraged you or just couldn't be bothered or both.
You'll find your fellow friends on this forum so helpful.
And we didn't even get that huge profit they made when they sold you your unit.
So much for service after the sale....
I would have taken the time to show you several options and installed prices.
I would have gone the extra mile and convinced you that its an easy DYI.
Most important I would have given you the option.
But more importantly you have all of us to walk you through it.
BTW..good choice going from plastic to stainless. Next a fancy fixture.
Agreed check out Etrailer.

If you have an undermounted hard glued sink, then you have a Solid Surface counter and Solid Surface sink. Both the top and sink can be renewed easily. Only issue you could possibly have is with thermal shock. Pouring boiling hot water in a cold sink can cause thermal cracking. Always run the cold water while draining hot water to temperate the water.

Take the overall dimensions of your sink and do a google search. Lots of sinks available. Try for an 18 gauge or minimally 20 gauge type 302 stainless. Lots of cheap poor quality sinks out there also.
Good Luck, it's not a difficult project.

To keep our sink from getting banged up, we use a dish pan on one side.

Yes, I know. It's the Corian (or equivalent) countertop. I was only commenting on what would be needed. No intention of changing my sink out.
I'd rather change the RV out.

Actually it's pretty easy to remove the sink if needed. Their is a special router bit that rides along the side of the sink and cuts the rim off, all ready for a new sink to be adhered.

I detailed the replacement of the plastic pos sink in our W Hawk. It was a conventional drop in sink and easy to remove once you found a way to reach the underside retention clips. I replaced it with a double stainless sink I purchased on Amazon. Do a search "sink replacement" as there are multi threads on the subject. They will give you links to models we used.

Sink Cracked
Almost 2 years ago we found our sink cracked during transit, (2016 Jay Flight 28RLS we've had for about 10 months) JAYCO said it's not covered under the warranty.
Sooooo...wife says new sink....upgraded the cheap double plastic sink to a single pan stainless steel....took the dimensions, had to do a little trimming of the counter, but it fits in nicely.

We have the same sink. Unfortunately no one makes an exact replacement in SS, so the drains would have to be tweaked. This is why I haven’t swapped it out yet. After 3 seasons, my sink still looks new, but I know it won’t last forever. I’m holding off until the sink gets beat up more. Lol.

Tweaking the drains is an easy fix, pvc is easy to work with. Its best to dry fit the loose drain pieces after seating the sink in place. Before the final install, make sure to install the new faucets on the sink before seating it in the counter.

+1, we do this also, both to keep the sink looking new and to be able to pour the dish water into the black tank. My fresh water tank holds more water than both waste tanks combined.
