Question kiwi wrinkled front

we have a 2003 Jayco kiwi travel trailer - the metal in the front (outside) had wrinkles when purchased this year - but now has more. Cannot afford to have professional - do not understand why it is doing this - any suggestions?

Could you post a picture of the wrinkles?

That's delamination. Usually caused by water/moisture intrusion. If the source of the intrusion is not fixed, it gets worse.

Wow, this is bad. I hate to tell you, even if you find the source of the leak, you may not be able to stop it from further delamination.

Hi
I think I would be pulling those top lights and that window to check for water.

Wrinkled front

Thank you so much to all that responded. There was a leak on the front roof seam which we have fixed. We took out the wood in the closet (along front wall), and are now replacing it. Thank you again for your help. We are hoping this will help the wrinkle.

Unfortunately there is nothing that will fix the delamination. The damage has been done. Fixing the leak and drying out the inside will help prevent more damage but it many not be able to dry up all the moisture underneath the laminate front.

I had the same problem with an 06 Keystone TT. After researching possible repairs, I think the options are to replace the front cap or overlay the existing damaged cap with thin alum diamond plate that comes in 4x8 sheets. Many new TT's come with this product on the lower section of the front as a protection from rocks and road debris. The entire front can be covered and you'll end up with a fairly attractive result.

Who ever sold you the TT knew what caused the problem. If they didn't disclose the problem, shame on them.

Bummer. I'd re-seal it up and enjoy it. May not be that attractive but save the $ on the repairs for more necessary repairs that may come up.

X2. Campers are a depreciating asset anyway, so just take it out and enjoy. I've seen folks in campgrounds with campers with the sides falling off and the wood exposed, etc, but they're thoroughly enjoying themselves. Mine does have a small bit of delamination in the rear from a previous roof leak that had since been fixed, and initially I harped on it a bit, but decided what the heck...I'm gonna enjoy it until it runs into the ground. THen replace it with something else to run to the ground... Happy camping!

Neighbor just had his front cap replaced on his North Shore TT. Cost was around 8k with repairing the original problem with leaking clearance lights. It was not as bad as yours. I would be wary of any structural damages associated with the leak.
