KOA Virginia Beach

Here we are on a chilly morning! This is a nice campground. Easy to get to and nice pull through lots. Everything was waiting for us for after hours check in and even let us check out late e/ no charge. The down side of this campground is its 5 miles from Oceana NAS and they fly F-18 fighters. Not conducive to a relaxing trip. Luckily they quit flying about the time we got set up.



Here's one of our good friends JF 267BHS. We do a lot of camping together now.

Downside?! I could listen to them all day long. They don't hit their burners low and long enough for me. [emoji3]

We've camped a couple of times at First Landing State Park. Virginia Beach is a beautiful area.

We were entertained by the F-18s.

First Landing is right next to Fort Storey. Lot's of training drills going on.

One night we say two helicopter chasing each other, one with lights on, the other completely in the dark. We could only see it in the moon light, and they were flying pretty low and right over the park. There was what must have been a spotter plane flying much higher, shooting down a green laser beam every few minutes. VERY COOL.

We also watched a couple of aircraft carriers and other navy vessels come into Norfolk.

So entertaining to camp there!

I love fighters, but I work on an Air Force base (Seymour Johnson)with F-15s taking off all the time! So a little time off is nice. Plus im about immune to the sounds, but the family no so much!!
