Leaking regulator?

I could smell gas a little over the past few days so I took the tank cover off and poked around with no luck. Turns out the gas is coming from the bottom of the regulator? Is there a reason why it would be venting this way? Or should I just get it replaced? If I replace it should I get a better quality regulator?

Did you just fill the tanks or were they sitting in the hot sun? If they get heated up some leakage is normal on a full tank because the gas expands when heated.

If I turn on either tank gas comes out the spout pointing down from the regulator. Doesn't matter what time of day I do this. Its just enough to see and smell, but not enough to hear leaking.

That spout pointing down is a vent but it shouldn't run constantly. Either it is bad or has some dirt or debris in it.

Mine did the same thing last year, either something gets stuck in it or the inner workings have failed. I just replaced mine with a better one, they are not very expensive.

Just had the same problem. Ended up it was a faulty regulator. Dealer replaced it.
