led awning lights

Are the led lights under the awning on a 2014 26rls 12 volt or 120 volt? They are the factory lights that were on it when bought new. Also has any one bought the ones off ebay that change colors with the remote are they okay?

The LED awning lights work on both 12 volt and 120 AC.

I personally do not own the aftermarket remote LED Lights that change color, but from reading past posts on this subject, the reviews have been positive.

I want a set of these, but I'm not sure where or how to tie in a switch for power. Seems all the wiring is between walls, and doesn't exactly look easy to run wire for something like this?

The actual lights are 12 volt lights.

We bought some sylvania light strips with remote that would turn 16 colors and stuck them on our old Kodiak camper. Worked great, but the strip got tacky/sticky and would stick to the awing when rolled up and after a couple years, made the awning start cracking from the stress of it unsticking when rolled out.

I have a 2013 26BH, which does not come with the LED awning lights.

After some searching on these forums, I went about putting my own LED strip on.

In short, I bought this:
http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00D...ilpage_o00_s00

I did the Home Depot trip to get supplies (3M double sided tape, some butt connectors, and a 50 foot (overkill) 4-wire telephone cable to use as a control wire to extend the LED kit wiring harness).

I simply cut off the 120V transformer on the LED kit (it has a 12V output) and used double sided tape to mount the control unit behind my panel/cabinet where the gauge is for the battery level and grey/black levels. Conveniently, on my trailer, there is a 12V power source there that looks like a cig lighter socket that I tapped into for my power source.

I then carefully drilled a hole in the side of the trailer (and later caulked it to seal it) up high above the outdoor light so my control wire will run directly into the trailer behind the cabinet where my gauges are. I carefully spliced the phone cable (using is as the control and power delivery cable) and ran it outside and along the underside of the awning using nice 3M cable clips that stick on to the side of the TT.

Some careful (painstaking) installation of the 3M double sided tape along the underside of the awning (there is a perfect metal strip that runs along the underside of the rail that the awning mounts to) and then stuck on my LED strip. The plug is situated at the front edge of the awning and is tucked away nicely.

It all looks clean, blends in to the TT, and is as close to factory as you are going to get. Works great, and looks great.

I found this post helpful:

Amosmoses33, a couple of weeks ago I said welcome to a new member in Dalton saying it was nice to see someone else from Georgia and today I have welcomed two from metro ATL and saw your profile. If we keep growing in numbers maybe we can start some kind of Georgia campers club! And I have to add GO FALCONS!

So, It looks like when you pull the switch panel out, there should be no problem finding +12V. Just add the LED controller to the box and drill a small hole (that's the scary part for me, I'm leak phobic) to run the wires to the exterior and carry on then? I like the idea of 2 strips originating at the wire penetration.

FYI, there are over 40 Georgia Good Sam Clubs in Georgia. Trying to get just a Jayco group together would be an effort. The Jayco International Rally can hardly get enough members together to make a go of it, probably because all their Rally's seem to be way up north. It would be nice to try. I walked around at the Georgia State Good Sam Fall Rally last month in Perry and saw lots of Jayco's there, but did not see the first member of the Jayco Owner's Forum. At least no one sporting our JOF decal.

I'm moving from New York to Peachtree City in a couple of years. Can I still root for the Mets and Jets?

Tech is ok unless they are playing Georgia. My cousins are Tech through and through. Disappointed in the Notre Dame game though, thought they'd show a bit better.
