LED lights Quite a saga

So I went to the dealership today to see if they had any lights that I could replace in my 2016 23RB, the nice lady informed me that I had to use the same light and they are all in back order from Jayco. Others have posted on the forum they have replaced all their lights so am I correct in assuming that if I use an LED that wires the same as the current light -without having to solder them in like mine - would they not work as well? See attached light the wires are soldered why would they do that? My old Prowler was so much easier to fix !

I replaced all of the lights in my 2017 Greyhawk because the old ones were recalled due to being a fire hazard. I dealt directly with the manufacturer who sent me the lights.

They sent me the snap in LED assemblies so I just kept the old plastic housings. The lights came with the wires already soldered to the board.

For install I unscrewed the plastic housing, popped out the old LED board, and popped in the new one. The wires then connect to the wiring in the ceiling by using Scotchlok connectors which is the way Jayco did the install. I bought a package of the connectors and just went to town.

The only negative about replacing all of my lights was a sore shoulder from having to hold my arms up for so long. I am an old wimp.

Looks like you could cut the wire leads that are behind the LED board. Remove the OEM LED board, and wire in a new LED board. If you can not get OEM boards, you might have to get creative on how to mount it. But some construction adhesive or a few small screws and washers, to clamp it in place. Should work

By chance have you tried google to find a replacement? You might also be able to just find the board.

Edit. Looks like Amazon has the full light fixture.

The problem with going to the company is they are in that States and I’m in Canada I did contact them and there is no Canadian representation so after I pay for delivery exchange etc it’s gonna really cost. Good to know though that they come already soldered ! Thanks so much !

What the lady you talked with doesn't understand apparently is that 12V is 12V.

I replaced four of ours with the 'old' style lights that use 1141 bulbs, and replaced the bulbs with LED versions of that bulb. We did it that way because neither of us can stand the blue white light of the ones that came standard and we now have a more incandescent (normal!) lighting look in the trailer. I managed to get the light units themselves out of a trailer graveyard for very little money. Check with your local RV dealer and see if one is around you if that's a direction that appeals to you since the old style when purchased new are fairly expensive, in my view. Good luck.
