Leveling question

So I have been out with my new trailer 8 or 9 times and have been on pads that I have only needed one lego block to set level side to side. Well I have just pulled in last night at a site that I had to use 3 levels high with lego blocks. It's good enough but it could go up another layer to be perfect but I can't stack them between the tires in a way it ramps up for more than 3 levels high. If I add more it won't have that ramp so it just pushes the blocks around.

So my question is: can I level the trailer up on just one tire? I have never asked this cause this is the first time coming across this situation. Will it affect the trailer by having one tire up on blocks and the other not? If not how do others get it high enough ramp with blocks in between the tires. It makes me wonder cause I have seen other models where the tires are closer together unlike the Jayco models so what in the heck do they do?

Thanks for the help!

For me, with tandem wheels, using a 1" block block on one tire gives me a 1/2" lift. I like to carry a couple 4' 2x6s if I have to get serious.

A set of these would seem to work better for tandem wheels than lego blocks.

The level from 1/2" to 4 ".

I have the Andersen leveler and agree it is a time and effort saver.

I just back up till she yells ok. If I go to far just let it come forward a bit.

I have not had any sinking so far but have only camped 2 or 3 days at a site.

I have seen these before. I will give them a try since it goes up to 4".

Thanks!

You wouldn't want to crank one tire 4" off the ground and leave the other one on the ground. That would put a lot of stress on your suspension. Only 1 Lego block difference would be the max I would go between the two tires. I agree with John7349. 1" block under 1 tire only gets you a 1/2" lift.

I build my leveler strip long enough to span both tires.
Then pull forward, wife pushes strip in place and I back both tires onto ramp and then onto final # of blocks needed to level.
I had to buy 30 (3 bags) on Lynxs blocs to do this.

I'm like Doug. I have a couple of the 10-packs of blocks that I use to fine tune the level. I also keep 4 - 24" 4x4's in the truck just in case. I'll use the 4x4's for the scissor jacks and use all of the blocks for the tires if need be. Haven't really been in a spot that un-level yet though.

I watched a guy pull onto these on a very wet site this past weekend. He might as well not even of bothered because he just pushed them into the mud. That being said, I still want a set of them because I've seen them used on dry ground and they seemed to work great. Even if I do buy those, I will always carry a few length of 2X6...just in case.

This is what we just bought. Can't wait to try it out on our trip next week. I'll report back on how it works.

That is what we were going to do but by the time we got to that point I could not back up any further. The site we are at has a parking curb thing and I was a inch away plus I didn't want to start over. My oldest son told me to do it this way. He would add blocks until we got to the height I needed.

Thanks for the replies! We have all are own ways of doing things that obtain the same result this is why I like the forum. Now I can try a couple of them and see what works best for myself.

Have a great summer!

The Anderson Levelers are great, have used them for two years now and love the fact you just back on to them. Yes, they may sink in wet conditions, but overall the best thing I have found for quickly leveling the trailer.

I bought 4 inch wide stair tread tape and put it on the top & bottom of each leveler to give it more grip on smooth surfaces.

Leveling question

I use the Anderson kit as well. Nothing bad to say. The set I bought have the level assists. Jack pads and a tongue jack pad. Off of amazon. I think it was just over 100$. Great buy You can also use them In case of a flat tire on your TT.

Anderson levelers for me going fwd. I've owned them for a few months now and haven't needed to use them until yesterday. Just literally back on to them and either have someone in back to tell u your level or simply get out and check.

"Just literally back on to them and either have someone in back to tell u your level or simply get out and check."

Or install the Level Mate Pro device and level it from the driver's seat of your tow vehicle.

Just checked them out on Amazon. They now offer a 2 pack that includes a rubber mat to go under each one. Definitely going to order a set.
