Leveling with Slides in or out

As long as my doors all operate like they should, I don't notice if the camper is out of level a little anyway. But I do know only open the slides when the camper has been "leveled". I heard mine pop once when I tried to let out the slide without the jacks down when I was trying to get something out of the back bedroom in a hurry. I always level it, close anyway, with the jacks down.

I level with it an inch high on the road side with the slide in. The slide is big and makes the trailer tilt. That is as close as I can get it. I bough another pair of scissor jacks to install in front of the wheels, and I'm sure that will force me to change how I level.

Level the HTT with the slide in. We have a small slide out. It is surprising to watch the level and you can see the bubble move a bit when the slide goes out. I try to level with the slideout side just a bit high. We also sleep sideways in the HTT, so we put our heads on this end too, as we know it is just a bit higher.

I level with slide in. Use 4 ton bottle jacks under the frame just forward of the front wheels. This stabilizes the trailer very well since much more pressure can be put on the frame with them than with the stab jacks.

I like my trailer slightly nose high and to be a little higher on the curbside so water will run off the roof on the side away from the doors.

I don't think leveling is rocket science and doesn't have to be real exact. You will be happier if your head is a little higher in your bed.

I have 2 huge opposing slides in the back that cover the wheels when out. It would be hard to do with them out even if I wanted to.

Level then slides out.

I had heard that they changed it on the PINNACLE to put the slides out and then level so that is why I contacted them.

I also checked with jayco when we got our Trailer and they said to level then put the slide out and never use those slide suport jacks as that can damage the slide .
