Light under steps

I noticed there is a light mounted on the frame of my trailer by the steps. It looks like one of the clearance lights with a orange lens. How do I turn this thing on?Dosnt work with the clearance lights when hooked to the TV.Also didn't work with outside awning light switch. How do I turn this on?Im guessing it's to light up the steps at night.

My tt is a bit older, but ours turns on with the outside awning light. Light bulb might be dead. Or you might have another switch.

step light.

Mine turns on with the awning light switch. I wished it had a white lense.

If you have a 2015 with the LED awning light, that little orange light is worthless. The awning light puts out a ton of light and you wouldn't even know that orange light is on unless you are staring directly at it.

+1!! That thing is USELESS with the factory awning light. Would be MUCH nicer if it worked on its own since I don't need to signal the Space Station when I just want to see the steps!

IDK, the little running light on my 19RD shows where the steps are very nicely.

But, where we boondock, the nearest significant source of overnight illumination is 265,000 miles away.

I was sucessful in seperating mine. I just leave the amber step lights on at night and enjoy the fire. It takes some hunting but can be done. They tie in somewhere closer to the frame possibly in a storage space or behind the converter. Mine was accessible and required my running of a seperate power line from my new control panel switch to the wire. In the 5'er's this is usually in the basement access panels where a lot of the wiring is.
My lead was Orange to the step lights.
