Lighting the stove

Not getting any gas to the stove- can you help?

Is there gas at the top burners and is it full pressure or minimal pressure?

No gas at the top burners.

Few quick things.. make sure there's propane in tanks; make sure you didn't open the propane "too fast" causing the safety mechanism to kick in; if you hear/smell gas at the stove top when it's turned on, then it could be the ignitor (a lighter should work instead).

If you have the auto change regulator, make sure the dial is pointed to the open tank. You can try resetting the regulator by:
1. turning off the tank valve.
2. opening a burner valve and leave it on high for 1 minute to releive any pressure
from the system.
3. turn off the burner valve
4. open the tank valve slowly
5. recheck pressure at stove

Thanks- think I opened the valve too fast so will wait and then try again.

I use a regular butane stick type lighter and just hold it on near the burner until the gas arrives from the tank instead of clicking the igniter button several dozen times. In our trailer the stove is 20 feet from the tanks so it takes a while for the gas to fill the line.

I always light the stove before turning on the fridge or water heater to insure the line is filled with gas.

I do this as well and especially before using the furnace since it will just keep cycling until it can lite.
