Locking cover on the fresh water fill

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to put a locking cover on the fresh water tank fill cap area? My Eagle has the standard circular recess with the cap and vent. Just trying to prevent someone from putting something other than water in the tank while it's in storage. Thanks:scratchhead

I have no idea but you could try putting one of these in there.

How about a plug used for duing mechanical pressure testing of plumbing systems. Not really a lock but they would need a tool.

Here is an example from a quick web search (ZeroTools.com).

I would like a lock of some sort too. Seems to easy for the factory to put a locking cover similar to the outside shower. It would cost them $1 and I'ld be happy to pay $100 for it as an ordering option.

I put one of these on my Eagle a couple of years ago (DIY)..., had to open the existing hole a little bit but turned out great.

Most RV dealers and Rv stores carry them.

Thanks Bob, that's what I was looking for as well. I've looked at my local Camping World for something like that and only found the "outside shower" cover. I'll look on line. Looks like the square part is recessed. Did you modify the part or did you square up the round hole on your camper?

No, I didn't have to "square up" the existing round hole with the unit I purchased. The square area that you are referring to on my unit was at the same depth as the outer most square housing that rests against the TT's outer wall surface. On the backside of the whole locking assembly there was an offset circular housing (where the existing hose will connect) that was a little larger than my existing opening.

I guess depending on the manufacture of the locking water inlet will dictate to what degree one has to alter the existing hole size.

Bob

Thanks for the info, Bob. Looks like you could use that to lock most any external orifice you wanted too with a little modification.
