Long term power at remote site

We have recently purchased a piece of land, that at this time does not have power. I plan to install a power pole, meter and break box in the relatively near future (within 1 year). I do have a generator out there that I can run to charge up batteries when we are out there.

Are there any cost effective ways to maintain the battery in the mean time?

There are several solar chargers on Amazon that work well just to keep the batteries charged. I used one when we had the FW in a storage facility.

I would secure, secure, secure. Turn the battery disconnect off after charging up those batteries. Padlock the hitch connection. And secure all gear. Not sure of your piece of land but sure things disappear more often than not.

Welcome to the forum.

Like Grumpy said, it seems like a solar charger could work for you. Of course Grumpy is in sunny FL in the sunshine. Will your site have direct sunlight? What RV to you have and how much do you use it?

The site has lots of access to sun. Secure safe area. Maintaining would be biggest deal. I can always fire up generator when up there. RV is Jayflight 22fb. Will be used a decent amount. But mostly on this piece of land.

I have a 400w Renogy solar system on my 23RB. I upgraded the single crappy battery to 4- 6v batteries for more amp hours. I don’t need to plug in ever unless I want to run the AC and then I fire up my little Honda. My camper sits out behind the house all winter and all summer and only gets plugged in if I’m at a campsite that has power (might as well use it if they offer it).
Solar will absolutely let you maintain your battery or even more depending on how deep you go down the rabbit hole.

I have a 5-watt solar panel on my RV battery when in storage and it keeps it fully charged. I am in an area with lots of sun. The battery disconnect switch is turned off.
