Looking for a camping grill! What do you think?
I am in the market for a good grill to bring along with us on our RV adventures. I want something portable, light and something that will hold up. What do you all recommend?

I just bought the gas Weber 2000 and stand with wheels on clearance at my local Home Depot for $175.00. I was looking at buying the Coleman, but I couldn't pass up the price!

I personally carry a weber 22.5 gold kettle grill with me! Family of 5 plus I can always use it as a smoker as well!

I love my Weber Q, got the fold up stand with it. Fits in storage bays well, cooks great, easy clean up. Perfect for my family of 4.

I have the grill you show in the upper right in your picture. I have grill plates that I can swap out to cook pancakes on it. I love using it. In the fall I use it for tailgating.

Weber Q 1000. Love ours! I converted it to run off the QC on the RV with a 25ft propane hose.

We use the COLEMAN ROADTRIP. Comes with lots of accessories and wheeled carry tote. Sets up easy and runs off 1LB canisters. Lots of cooking space and you can use the different grilles for what you are wanting to cook.
I like the way this unit has a water filled area below the burners to catch all of the grease which makes for easy cleanup...

You will find a lot of people will recommend a Webber. I know I did lots of research and ended up purchasing a Webber 220 with stand and could not be happier. I had modified it to work off our TT propane so there is no need for the small portable bottles. It is a little more expensive but definitely worth the added cost.

Coleman Road Trip. Was our only grill for years and now it stays in the TT. Had to get a new regulator, but good as new now!

Hard to beat a weber. If you are a gas type the Q2xx is awesome. If you are a charcoal/fire type the a traditional 22" kettle is my choice.
I am a bit of a BBQ/Grill/Smoker fanatic. I have 8 webers and 1 Santa Maria pit grill at last count. I leave a Q200 in the trailer always and usually pack a kettle too.

My question is how do you like to camp, what do you want out of a grill, and how many are you cooking for?
We have a dog and she is very good, but in CG she has to be tied up, so her lead will wrap around legs of anything and everything, so any you can picture the rest.
Some people really like to connect to the low pressure quick connect under the TT. I do not like cooking under my awning, and then there is the issue of no place to set anything down.
So a table top unit is for us. We have a weber grill like the one on the bottom of the shown options. Its ok, nothing to write home about, but it does its job. I use an 11 pound propane tank, with a manifold. The tank sits on the end of a picnic table bench. The grill and the propane stove is simultaneously connected to the tank. We do all our cooking from that location. It is very rare we cook inside. Typically we can go all season on one fill of the tank. Have not done this yet, but the manifold is setup so a propane light can be mount at the top.

Conventional wisdom is the Weber. Been around for a while and has lots of fans. You can't go wrong with a Weber.
I personally have a Coleman LXE. We like it because we can grill meat, we can griddle pancakes or hash browns, and we can boil soup or make a pot of coffee. The interchangeable cooktops are great.
We also have it configured so we can remove the regulator and run off the TT quick connect, or we can attach the regulator and run off the little gas bottles, depending upon the campground situation. It is very versatile and some people complain about it being difficult to clean, but I've never had a problem. I just pull off the grates and wipe down the underneath tray with paper towel after each use.

We use the Coleman Roadtrip. Bought it at Canadian Tire on sale in 2001. Went across the lake to get the wheeled storage bag for it the next day. Still works like it did when we first got it. Generally we run it off a 20LB propane tank with a propane tree that also runs our campstove and a lantern with adapter hoses. Can't see a reason to change.

Another weber vote here. I've had my weber Q outside uncovered for about 10 years now. They hold up great.
I also own a the genesis, 22" smoker, and the 22" performer charcoal. I really like weber.

Weber Q1000 or Napoleon TQ2225PO both are fool proof for grilling and easy to convert to a propane tank.
