Unhappy Lots of rust on new 2021 212qb

I have a new (picked up in March) 2021 212QB that I have used 5 times so far, and the wife and I love it. Have had no problems with any of the features on the camper, but the frame and leaf springs are covered in surface rust. In fact, two of the four leaf springs are entirely covered in rust, and several areas of the frame are quite extensively covered in it. Now I would expect this from a TT that was 3-4 years old, but not one that was built in January and picked up in March. The dealer's service manager had me take pictures of the rust and sent them on to him so he can include them in his claim to Jayco. Has anyone out there had this problem on a new Jayco product? And, if so, what was done by Jayco to rectify the situation? I told the service manager that I expect the rust to be removed from the frame/springs and repainted/resealed to protect the metal. Thanks for any insight any of you can give into this situation.

I would recommend spraying the areas of concern with Fluid Film. Many of us in the salt belt use it with great success.

The trailer was built and delivered in the winter with salt covered roads. Don't be too disappointed if JAYCO doesn't consider it a warranty issue. Multiple threads on JOF about rusty springs even on the motorhomes.

As MM said, get some fluid film and coat the springs and frame it will protect much better than paint since it penetrates the metal. We used it to coat the beds of the dumps used for plowing/salting.

Pretty common on travel trailers that come from Indiana. Mine was like that to in 2016.

Your frame/chassis may have been sitting for some time before it was built too. I found a build date on ours that was a year before our trailer year. Plenty of time for some rust to build up.
