No filter that I see and no, it was not a "poor defenseless pump" It is a pump that was straight from hell when coming on in the middle of the night for no reason.

There is always a reason for something to happen. Even if that reason is the damned thing itself is faulty.

I've noticed the pump will run in short bursts:
  • About a minute after we stop using hot water.
  • Several time over 3 hours after the water heater is turned off.
As the water cools off in the lines or tank it contracts.

** Search some more for the filter or a kinked line. ** Get in where the pump is located with some really good light.

I had the same issue and what made the difference in my Jayco was the pressure reducer I was using. Get rid of the cheap plastic ones and buy a brass one to replace it. Now my water pressure is the best it's ever been.

Last few trips we were on city water. Next one we have to use our pump. Thanks for reminding me
