Low Point Drain Valve Leaking?

Hello,

My unit has 2 "plunger / pop up" type drain valves inside under the rear vanity sink.

For some reason one of them began leaking and does not seem to shut completely.

I'm having a hard time identifying these online so I can purchase a replacement.

Has anyone had similar issues or info on these?

I believe someone recently posted that they repaired their leaking low point drain valve(s).

IIRC, they removed the spring on the outside, pulled the plunger up and out of the valve body, replaced the 'o-ring', lubricated with silicone and reassembled.
They took the plunger to ACE or some other well-stocked hardware store and purchased a replacement o-ring.

I hope all that is correct.

oldmanAZ is correct. I believe there are 2 o-rings in each if I'm not mistaken. Pull the little clip and remove the stem to expose the o-rings and lubricate as he stated. Sometimes they'll stop leaking if you grab the "T" handle and rotate it 360* a few times while closed. This helps reseat the o-rings if not damaged.

I think it only takes a little piece of debris to make these things leak.

This last time, I used a little plumber's grease, and lubed up the o-ring.

To take the valve apart, there is a little metal clip under the T-handle. Once the clip is removed (don't loose it) the whole internal assembly will pop out. It is much easier to fix, than to replace.

^^This^^ Both our ours were leaking before our trip two weeks ago. Pulled metal clips, then removed the t-handles. The o-rings were bone dry which explains why they were so hard to open/close - o-rings were binding up and undoubtedly twisting in the housing causing the leakage. Inspected the o-rings for any cracks or tears (they were fine), lubed them up with faucet grease, reassembled - no leaks and a whole lot easier to operate!

Mine are seeping a little too. I’d have to lose 30 pounds, gain 8 inches reach on my arms and learn how to dislocate my shoulders to access my valves enough to rebuild them. I plan on adding some kind of shutoff to the end of the hoses where they exit my camper at the end of the season.

Mine was doing the same thing. They are also under the bathroom vanity and very difficult to get to. I went to the local hardware store and bought two brass ball valves, a couple 1/2" hose barb fittings and some hose clamps. I put the ball valves on the ends of both hoses under the trailer and put two hose clamps on each fitting. I leave the drain valves under the sink open and just use the new valves underneath to drain the system. Much easier to get to than rolling myself into a ball upside down to get to the valves under the sink. No problems so far after several days under pressure in the driveway and a couple weekends at full hookups.

I have a Jayco PUP, both my valves started leaking, it sounds very easy to take this apart, but is it easy to put back together?

Very easy to take apart and put back together. The T handle part is just a straight shaft with an o-ring. Pulls straight out, and pushes straight in. The hardest part is the metal retainer on the outside. Do not loose it!
