I got a Zinus short queen 10 inch off Amazon, much better than stock. Others may be better but at $230 it is cheap enough. A little heavier than I would like when lifting the bed but that original mattress is terrible.

I just replaced the full size queen, Denver mattress (terrible mattress) with a 12" memory foam mattress (heavenly). It's so nice, I'm thinking about replacing my home Sealy with one.
No worries on that height of new mattress when raising the bed? Doesn't conflict with leading edge of camper? Thanks.
Height (as well as length and width) was not an issue, but, the memory foam mattress is much heavier than the Denver. Lifting the bed platform does require a little more effort and the the gas struts will not hold up the mattress platform (I just modified an old broom handle to hold up the platform)
I think we used a 3-4" (maybe 6"?) topper and it worked out well. I took it out there, marked the length and cut it with an electric carving knife so it fit the mattress. It's wonderful to sleep on, but as noted, somewhat heavier so we don't use that storage as much.

Brentwood homes full queen 11" memory gel (mattress in a box) from Amazon. We liked it so much we bought one for the house!
Be careful with a 'topper'. Remember that the crap mattress underneath will continue to degrade even with a topper on it. https://www.amazon.com/Brentwood-Hom...me+11%22+queen
+1 for the Zinus 10" from Amazon. We started out using a 4" topper, but eventually the mattress just couldn't cut it. The 10" Zinus was the solution, and we moved it from our trailer to our new MH. Didn't even give the OEM mattress on the MH a chance, we changed it out at PDI when we bought it and the "new" mattress went with the old trailer.
