Mattress Recommendations Please

Looking to upgrade the mattress in our Alante. California queen and must be foldable.

I'd really enjoy your recommendations!

Thanks

I'm not familiar with a "California queen" mattress size. Dimensions?

We went to a local foam shop who does custom mattresses. They made us one specifically for our trailer. It is foldable and the fabric cover comes off for washing. We chose the style of foam, depth of foam and overall dimensions. It was a couple hundred dollars, but it was worth it for exactly what we wanted.

That's an alternative I haven't thought of. Thanks, I'll try to find a "foam shop".

California queen is a term that I've run into recently. If it uses the same meaning as a California king, it would be a bit longer and a bit narrower. Many believe the California king is a bigger bed than the standard, or, recently, Eastern King. But it is in fact merely longer and narrower

I'd recommend a memory foam mattress. Super comfortable and easy to trim to size for unusual RV configurations. The ones in our campers have always been bargain ones from overstock.com or walmart.com.

The one in my house was purchased at Costco. Our 15 year old no-brand king bed was replaced last year with the Costco mattress. We cut the king in half and are using it for our kids twin beds. They love it!

If you search memory foam mattress on eBay, you will find different thickness, firmness and quality. I bought a 10” queen mattress for $200ish and it was awesome!

I have no idea where I learned "California Queen", but it seems I've been totally wrong. "Short Queen" is what accurately describes our bed. Thanks!

Zinus Ultima Comfort Memory Foam 8 Inch Mattress,*Queen https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006L9VANK?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

We bought this mattress. I think it is available as a short queen (we bought a regular queen.). Slept like a baby on a 10 day road trip last week, so I would highly recommend this mattress.

I went with an air mattress (Walmart, with built in electric air pump)with a memory foam topper. Absolutely the best sleep I have ever got. When the family is away, I’ll even sleep in the trailer while they are gone!
