MaxxAir Fan and Rain

I have two MaxxAir fans in my White Hawk. In the bathroom is a MaxxAir MaxxFan deluxe. In the living room is a MaxxFan 4500k with a MaxxAir cover. Both have rain sensors and temperature settings. Today they were both set at 78 and running when a big driving rain came up. After the rain I went in to check things out, the bathroom fan was closed and dry. The living room fan was closed but there was a flood of water on the floor that I had to mop up. The MaxxFan deluxe has its own cover and was dry, does that make it a better fan? I don't know because neither one had ever leaked before. They are supposed to close at the first drop of water. One did and the other didn't. Just sayin

That's good to know. I just installed the 7500 today. I didn't think rain could come in on these MaxxFan deluxe.

They only close if the rain hits the sensor. I have had Fantastic fans do the same thing if the rain water does not hit the sensor. I don't leave them open and vacate the RV thinking they are going to close on their own. They might not.

I don't think mine, the 7500 has a rain sensor.
