Metal skirt fell off

Today after driving down a (very) bumpy road, the metal skirt on the side of my 2014 33bhbs tore in half and fell off (see attached image). I used a little duct tape to survive the rest of the trip, but now I'm wondering how critical it is to put on a new one. Do I need to replace it or can I just keep going without it? If I need to replace it, where can I find one? Is it something I can just order and install myself?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm sure that's an option, I was just asking if I need it or if it's alright to just leave it off

It's your unit, me I'd fix what's there, doesn't look that damaged.

You'll have to judge if it is a void for water intrusion, if you can use the same piece or if it has to be replaced.

I have a hard time believing manufacturers are putting pieces on the outside of a trailer for mere aesthetics, but I've been known to be wrong! Even so, aesthetics count against resale. If it were me, I'd replace it. (I learned my lesson on a '14 Mazda CX-5 -- a year or 2 after buying it new, I lightly brushed up against a wooden post, very slightly creasing the right rear quarter panel and door. Decided not to submit insurance claim or fix it. Lost almost $1.5K in value when I traded it in for my new Silverado last summer. To avoid paying the deductible, I drove it for over 4 years, felt sad every time I looked at it, and then lost money. I won't make that mistake again.)
