Mice in oven?

How can mice get in my oven? Built nest and spent the winter.

They picked the best warm spot in the house, no snow, rain, wind and you to bother them for months on end. Now that’s my kind of camping

A mouse can get through a small, 6-7 mm hole (about the diameter of a normal-sized pen)...

Mice got in my oven once and left their little black droppings in the skillet I use for my morning eggs.

They also left their nastiness in all the drawers too. Silverware, kitchen utensils and towels were all contaminated. It was a pretty disgusting situation that required a lot of washing, cleaning and Clorox-water for disinfection.

Welcome aboard!

Not sure what stove/oven unit you have. Ours has a vent along the back. I suspect they could have gotten in their. Bet there are lots of other penetrations too, such as where the gas line comes in.

Make sure your windows and doors are all open when you fire it up the first time. Before, as above, get in the back and inspect for damage to propane hose and any wiring. Also, any trash back there plus loose fiberglass. You may have to pull it and clean under it and replace any fiberglass insulation. This is the reason I crawled under mine when I got home. Packed every opening with aluminum screen wire and foam or silicone it in place. Then went inside and did them same from the top. I also added screens to my furnace, water heater and fridge vents.
