microwave door

hoping someone has a tip to fix this.
when I push the button to open the microwave door, it does not pop open. It unlocks and I can pull it open, but it should pop open.
any ideas on how to fix this and what to look for?

We have that same thing happen but it has not been a problem yet for us. I would likely put a quick squirt of silicone spray in the small holes where the latch seats. Mine has 2 latches.

I did that a while ago. I need to do it again and see if that helps it kick the door out again.
is there a spring in there somewhere?

My home microwave started doing that. Annoying! By trial and error I added a small piece of self stick felt layered to the correct thickness to pop it open and stuck it on the closing surface between the latches.

I have never had much luck taking a microwave apart. My best fix is to go buy a new one before I start they are so cheap.

My door has a mind of it's own and only sticks when I am up early trying to warm up a pastry and everyone else is asleep!

It's not uncommon for cooking food to be splattered up into the microwave door latch. First, wipe down the latch hook and latch hole(s) the best you can. Then spray lightly with silicone. I wouldn't use WD-40 because it is petroleum based.
