Minimum water in a 26RLS

I'm close on weight so I wanted to carry absolute minimum water, just for using the toilet and washing hands. I carry drinking water in the fridge.
I timed it with my tap running full and to my surprise I had to fill for 5 minutes to get enough water to keep the pump from making funny noises (cavitating, I suppose). The level guage still shows empty. I do notice a difference towing with just that amount of water on.
Any suggestions?
I understand from other threads that the Jayco tanks are a wide flat tank so you need more water than you might in some others.

Grant,

Depending on the location of the fresh water tank the addition of fluids in many cases has a direct impact on tongue weight, thus an effect on TV handling.

May want to consider carrying a two-five gallon jug of water and use it as needed while in tow, then add water to the tank at the CG.
